Interpretation

Are you planning an event with a foreign speaker and need someone to help you facilitate your bilingual and bi-cultural exchange? You are looking for...an interpreter!

What is an interpreter?

An interpreter is the ideal person for any international event. He or she is a conveyor of meaning who transmits a message from one language to another and from one culture to another. He or she is the go-between who enables people to understand each other and to work together. Interpreting can be consecutive, whispered, simultaneous (booth) and liaison.

What does a liaison interpreter do?

The liaison interpreter facilitates exchanges between speakers in a live, fluid and simple manner in a rather informal context. Discussions take place 'on the spot', in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

What are his/her qualities?

A ladle of discretion, a glassful of neutrality, a pinch of empathy, a zest of adaptation, a tablespoon of reactivity, all sprinkled with kindness...

My experiences abroad as well as my daily work allow me to cultivate these qualities which are necessary for any good interpreter.

I have been drawn into the world of languages since a very young age and I have always enjoyed interacting with people from other cultures.

I am more interested in the spoken than the written word, and I like to be the intermediary between multilingual interlocutors in order to facilitate understanding and, consequently, to bring more tolerance.
